CAPITAL METAL FINISHING SERVICE AGREEMENT 

Our liability for any cause is limited to our finishing charges for the product directly damaged by our finishing. You agree to hold us harmless from all other loss or damage including liabilities and obligations to end users and others.

  • CAPITAL METAL FINISHING DOES NOT GUARANTEE 100% RESTORATION ON ANY METAL BEING SERVICED THAT IS OLD, USED, PITTED, RUSTED, CRACKED, BENT, DAMAGED, NEEDS REPAIRING, HAS HOLES, HAS BEEN FABRICATED WITH WELDING OR HAS BEEN EXPOSED TO CHEMICALS, METAL TREATMENTS, LUBRICANTS, OILS OR LIQUIDS USED WITH AUTOMOTIVE, MECHANICAL, FABRICATION OR METAL TREATMENT PROCESSES THAT DAMAGE OR WEAR OUT METAL.

  •  ZINC, ELECTROLESS NICKEL & OXIDE PLATING QUALITY WILL COME OUT AS GOOD AS THE BASE METAL IS. IF THE PARTS HAVE HAD ANY COATING OR EXPOSURE TO ANY OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED PROCESSES WE CAN NOT GUARANEE THAT THE INTENSITY OF THE COLOR OF THE PLATING WILL MATCH OTHER PARTS THAT ARE RAW, NEW METAL.

  •  CMF-CAPITAL METAL FINISHING DOES NOT RECOMMEND NICKEL AND OR CHROME PLATING ALUMINUM PARTS AS THEY MAY CHIP OR FLAKE WITH TIME. WE DO RECOMMEND HIGH GRADE POLISH ON ALUMINUM PARTS.

  1. All WALK-IN orders require 1/2 of the invoice total to begin service.

  3. An EPA surcharge of 10% will be charged to all orders.

  4. CERTIFICATIONS-A $25 fee will be added to orders requiring a certification attached to invoice/po

  5. We charge a 5% convenience fee on Credit / Debit transactions for commercial / approved orders.

  6. We do not issue refunds for services rendered. We do offer shop credit on approved service orders.

  7. Quotes are valid for 30 days only.

  8. ALL QUOTES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE UPON REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF CMF PRODUCTION MANAGER.

  9. At times, when old plating is removed, underlying damage may be revealed and not accounted for in the initial quote.

  10. We reserve the right, at our option, either to reject work or revise our price quotation should any unforeseen complications arise which are not apparent during the initial quote.

  11. All quotations are subject to sampling.

  12. Capital Metal Finishing is not  responsible for property left 30 days post the service completion date.

  13. All items left on site for more than 30 days will result in the forfeit of ownership of the property to Capital Metal Finishing.

  14. ANY ORDERS NOT COLLECTED 1 WEEK AFTER DAY OF COMPLETED SERVICES WILL RESULT IN A WEEKLY STORAGE FEE OF $10/WEEK.

  15. We are not responsible for any bushing bearings or any other parts left on the property not being serviced.

  16. REWORKS

    1. Claims for errors, deficiencies, or imperfections will not be considered unless made within 24 hours after delivery.

    2. Rejected parts must be returned to us for rework.

    3. CMF is not responsible for any rework processes not performed at Capital Metal Finishing

    4. CMF is not responsible for any sorting of mixed parts not performed at Capital Metal Finishing

    5. CMF will not pay for any freight incurred by reworks.

    6. It shall be your responsibility (the customer) to inspect the finished material upon its return to insure that our metal finishing has met your requirements and any claimed deficiency must be presented to us prior to the time that any further processing, assembly or other work is undertaken. Further finishing on or assembly of parts by you or any other party shall constitute a waiver of any liability on our part.

  17. SHIPPING

    1. All orders shipped to CMF will require payment IN FULL before servicing begins.

    2. We charge a handling fee of $15 plus the cost of shipping.

    3. After receiving your SHIPPED order, you are required to check your items and sign off on the completed services.

    4. You have 24 hours from the delivery confirmation date to contact us about any grievances regarding parts or quality.

    5. It is your responsibility to check your order and inform us of any issues by email at cmfquote@gmail.com.

    6. If we are not contacted within the 24 hour period, we will not be able to re-service the items and any re-service will be at the expense of the customer.

The following is a list, not meant to be all-inclusive, of conditions which may apply to the parts you asked us to quote. We review this list as part of our feasibility review; however, you must also review this list to determine if your parts may be affected by any of the following statements. If any of the conditions below apply, we cannot be held responsible for any damage or deficiency.

NESTING: Flat parts and parts that nest together may have areas with incomplete or missing plating, chromate and/or color. This condition cannot always be predicted from a print.

TANGLING: Parts that are configured in such a way that they may tangle or interlock when tumbled will not plate properly. Parts may also become distorted, deformed or bent because of this. This condition cannot always be predicted from a print.

CRIMPING: If part is to be formed or crimped after plating, the plating may not completely adhere 

after this operation.

WELDING: Welded parts, brazed parts and staked parts must fit tightly to one another with no gaps. Otherwise the solution may get trapped which will leak out later and cause premature corrosion or other visual defects.

THREADS: Some minor nicking or thread rolling may occur, especially on large diameter, soft parts.

THREAD GAGING: We will not guarantee that threads will gage after plating unless agreed to in writing before processing.

BLIND HOLES: Blind holes may trap solution which may leak out later and cause premature corrosion or other visual defects.

INSIDE DIAMETERS of longer parts our tubes may not be completely plated. This is inherent in the electroplating process.

DUSTING or starring of plated parts may be apparent.

TESTING is not included in pricing provided in the quote. If the Spec referenced in this quote requires any testing, you, the customer, must take responsibility for performing it.

HYDROGEN EMBRITTLEMENT RELIEVE: You, the customer are responsible for providing the proper information for Hydrogen Embrittlement Relieve i.e. bake times, temperature, CMF Capital Metal Finishing is not responsible for Hydrogen Embrittlement Relief determination.

STRIPPING: We cannot be held responsible for thread or other damage, including hydrogen embrittlement, on parts that you request us to strip and re-plate.

VISUAL: The plating we perform is a functional finish, no cosmetic. If visual standards are not met, they must be agreed upon in writing at the time the quote is finalized. A film from sealants may be visible.

COLORS: Colored coatings are not cosmetics. Color, shade, intensity and coverage may vary. Black color varies from dark iridescent to brown to black.

PARTS MADE FROM CERTAIN STEELS: (i.e 4160) do not plate well. Some blistering may occur. PARTS WITH 

EXCESSIVE HEAT TREAT SCALE, or scale from Hot Rolled steel may not clean or plate well. Some blistering may occur. If we must strip and re-plate to correct this condition, we will charge for it. 

SMALL AND/OR THIN PARTS: may stick in the lid of other crevices in the barrel causing a small percentage of un-plated or partially plated parts. You may need to sort for this condition.
